Hi, I’m Allison Dragony.

I am passionate about helping parents. I love kids and I love the people trying to raise these little humans the best way they know how. Parenting in the modern era is incredibly trying. Before I became a parent I had no idea how truly challenging it would be, including pregnancy and the experience of pregnancy loss.

I chose the name Nesting Dragon Coaching, because to me the dragon represents strength and magic. Two things that are required in parenting! I love the image of a Nesting Dragon, a dragon that is Strong, Vulnerable, and Protective. That Dragon has something to keep safe. As we move through all of the levels of parenting, including the journey to become a parent, there is so much vulnerability, so much to protect, and oh so much strength. There is also treasure! My goal is to help you find the magic in the parenting journey and in yourself as you navigate this journey.

I have worked as the Director of Trainings, Workshops, and Practice Development at the private therapy practice Imago Georgia since 2011. The main cause of relationship stress I’ve seen over the years is when couples get lost in the hustle & bustle of life and forget to maintain connection with their support system and themselves. Distance can become more pronounced when a couple experiences a big event of loss such as loosing a pregnancy or large life changes.

I am a Certified Imago Facilitator and a graduate of The University of Arizona with a BFA in Acting and Directing and a BA in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

My goal with Nesting Dragon Coaching is to teach you skills to help you maintain connection and communication through the tough times, prioritize your health and care, and achieve the family life of your dreams.

My Approach

My approach to parenting coaching is parent centered. I want you to learn what helps you communicate effectively, ask for help, and connect with the support system that will allow you to be the best guide for your children. Great parenting starts with the parents.

ART

I love art, writing, theater, music, and pottery. I will incorporate art in our work together whenever possible, because I believe it has the ability to break down barriers and help us express ourselves in a way nothing else can. Parenting takes a lot of empathy and the best way to build this muscle is through art.

Imago

I am an Imago Facilitator, so our sessions will involve learning the Imago Dialogue, a tool that brings down reactivity and increases connection and understanding in your relationships. It is a tool created by Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt and is used in a type of couples therapy called Imago Relationship Therapy. I am not a therapist. I am a certified coach in the Imago Dialogue and can guide you to improve your communication with this unique skill set.
