ALLISON DRAGONY Certified Imago Professional Facilitator Parenting and Pregnancy Loss Coach
Imago Based Coaching
What is Imago based Coaching?
Imago Relationship Theory was developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt. My coaching practice and techniques are based in my training as an Imago Professional Facilitator. This type of coaching is a communication based practice that uses dialogue (a structured way of speaking during our sessions) to make sure that I am understanding you, and you are understanding me during important conversations. Learning this skill will increase positive communication in every aspect of your life.
My coaching services are targeted to parents at the beginning of their journey and parents who are grieving after pregnancy loss.
There are so many transitions in the parenting journey and the early stages can be so difficult to manage without a solid support system and a way to reconnect with your partner and community. My goal is for us to work together to co-create a path forward so you feel connected, calm, and prepared for the parenting journey.
I believe that when we feel heard, seen, and connected, we can do anything! We will work together to get you on the thriving path you deserve.

FAQs
Coaching vs. Therapy
I am a coach, not a therapist. Our work together will always fall under the realm of coaching and not therapy. We will be discussing emotional topics, and if at anytime I feel you would benefit from more in-depth support, we can work together to find you a therapist.
What is Imago?
“Imago” is the Latin word for “Image.” Imago Relationship Therapy and Theory was created by Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt.
As human beings, we tend to have a specific “image” or imprint of the type of romantic partner we’re seeking. Without meaning to, many of us choose a partner who is uniquely qualified to frustrate us. Our brains subconsciously attempt to recreate situations from our past, so we can solve and heal unwanted relationship patterns.
Many of us were raised to believe in the idea of “happily ever after.” Imago Relationship Therapy sees frustration and conflict as a natural occurrence in our lives and relationships. Through intentional dialogue, we support clients in discovering how that conflict can lead to healing - and ultimately a closer, more meaningful relationship.
What is an imago professional facilitator?
An Imago Professional Facilitator is a coach who has been trained to work with clients using the Imago Dialogue tool. We do not offer therapy, but do offer consultation in various fields utilizing the concepts and tools of Imago Relationship Theory.
Pregnancy Loss Feels really vulnerable to talk about, what can I expect?
In our sessions discussing pregnancy loss or in the pregnancy loss groups or workshop, you should know that you are in charge of how much or how little you share. While I will ask you to participate in the exercises, you can practice the skill without revealing intensely personal details. If you want to share, you will have space to be heard and supported, but how much you share and what you share is entirely up to you.
Are you going to teach me how to parent?
My coaching focuses more on how you are relating to yourself, your partner, and your kids, rather than actually learning “how to parent”. While you will learn skills you can use with your children as a parent, most of our work will focus on getting you to a place where you feel you are able to handle the various obstacles being hurdled at you as a parent.
Do you also work with dads?
Yes! While I specialize in working with female identifying parents, because this is my lived experience, my services are open to anyone regardless of gender. I have specific programs already prepared for female identifying parents, but those programs can be modified for any gender and we can co-create a process that works for you.
